He also highly values his steppe heritage, often proudly wearing traditional clothing.

                                               history .

Among the dozens of Xaela clans that inhabit the sprawl of the Azim Steppe, the Akademiy tribe is one of the few that actively seek contact and integrate with non-Auri peoples. What was once a clan of few numbers has now grown into a notably large collection of wayward scholars from all backgrounds embracing the nomadic lifestyle of the Xaela. Most members of the Akademiy clan are either chirurgeons or apothecaries, traveling across the steppe to study and develop herbal medicines and surgical techniques. They have little combative presence in the Naadam—not because of their composition of academics and foreigners, but rather for the fact that they lack a formalized structure of hierarchy and are reluctant to elect a warrior representative.Kumon is one such chirurgeon native to the steppe, renowned in his circles for teaching unto other doctors both Western and traditional, spiritual medicine. Kumon had already sired two daughters and one son when he had the boy he had curiously name “Khan”, in the hope that he would grow into an identity that commands respect and dignity. Once a timid child, Khan had been affectionately nicknamed "Little Wolf" by his family, referencing his tendency to heel by his father's side. The childrens’ mother, Sylvan, resides on the Thavnair coast for an average of nine moons out of the year and works diligently both as an educator of medicine and as the caretaker of her elderly father.Raised amongst excellence, the young Khan had developed a strong competitive spirit rooted in his feelings of inferiority. Throughout his entire lifetime, his ambition has continuously pushed his body and mind to the brink of self-destruction. At the age of 10, he took an interest in equestrian sports and aspired to participate in a long-distance endurance horse race for steppe youths. He sought the service of the strongest and most powerful steed he could find, but the young boy was no match for the strength of a bucking horse. He was kicked in the head, causing a life-threatening fracture to his skull. Chirurgeons and conjurers placed him in an induced coma for the span of three days while surgical and magical measures were explored in order to save his life. His parents had already buried their first son at winter's end: they couldn't bear the paint of losing another.Khan was since able to recover relatively fully and continues to undergo physical therapy to preserve his motor functions, but the amount of aether used to suspend his vitals had led to the manifestation of small crystalline formations in his brain akin to what we know as tumors. Specialists have observed that these crystals are almost imperceivable and grow very slowly over the span of several years. They’ve judged that Khan is currently of no immediate danger, but they do fear the potential effects that these formations will have on his senses and his judgment in the future. All of this, of course, is of little significance to Khan himself, and if anything only adds fire to his desire to push himself. As of the events of 5.0 and onwards, Khan is beginning to lose his peripheral vision. Despite his reluctance, it is in his best interests to be accompanied in combat so as not to be ambushed by an enemy in his blind side.

                                  HOOKS & OBSERVATIONS .

hook 1 .     Khan's physically pretty scary, (his friends take him around clubs to use him as "scary dog privilege" and ward off creeps and aggressors) but he's not opposed to idle conversation! Don't be afraid to walk up to him. He's usually pretty polite, unless his friends are there to test his patience.  hook 2 .     Khan is an educator at heart. He's a natural at teaching, and it makes him happy to see knowledge and culture being shared and passed along. It also flatters him when people see him as a figure of authority or wisdom.  hook 3 .     Khan is a jock. He'll teach you how to use all the complicated machines at the gym. He also just loves sports and the spirit of competition. When he left horse racing, he got really into volleyball and basketball. He's a big fan of Frontline PvP and he'll get mad about it like he's talking about college football. Go Maelstrom!  hook 4 .     Khan's in a war against his own body. He's still trying to navigate a lifetime's worth of pushing himself past his physical limits. He tore muscles in his shoulder while he was training as a dragoon and he's still recovering from that to this date. He's slowly starting to lose his vision and is becoming increasingly aware of the effects of the crystals festering in his head. Whether he likes it or not, he might need assistance.  hook 5 .     Khan spent several years of his early life learning how to walk, talk, and function as he once did. To make up for a childhood lost, he's endearingly open to participating in childish, silly activities. He's profoundly patient and understanding of young children.

                                         RELATIONSHIPS .

z'attana kett .     The reclusive leader of New Directions took interest in Khan's physical and intellectual utility and offered him a place in the Free Company's lodgings in exchange for his service as a security escort, or "attack dog" as she had put it colorfully. She soon found use for his aptitude in mathematics, letting him handle bookkeeping and the tutoring of her young son.  winton kett .     Khan has a fondness for the boy, expressing a sense of tenderness he wouldn't outwardly show to his other peers. He willingly tends to the child's welfare while his mother frequently ventures out alone. Winton's curiosity and talkative personality reminds Khan of his own younger sister, who he shares a similar relationship with.  i'talian amurrican .     The two had originally met at the Quicksand in Ul'dah. After Khan had continuously invited her out for a date over the span of several weeks, Talia decided to humor him by taking him to Limsa Lominsa's most popular oyster bar. She consumed a total of forty-eight (48) entire oysters before Khan left for the bathroom and darted out of the restaurant, leaving her with the bill. Entirely by happenstance, or perhaps strung along as the fates would command, the two had been reunited upon joining New Directions and Talia has sworn to inconvenience him ever since.  frederic aariana .     Khan's holds a lowly opinion of Freddy, citing the Hrothgar doctor's penchant towards liquor and gambling. Despite this, he still acknowledges Freddy's status as a senior academic and will address him respectfully and accordingly.  nimna saal .     Once young children of the Steppe, the two Xaela Au Ra had met upon the playground. During a game of tetherball that Khan would soon never forget, Nimna had accidentally struck the ball directly into his face, causing him to run away crying. The two seldom seen each other since, as Nimna had become isolated from other children and Khan soon fell to injury. As a Steppe doctor, Kumon Akademiy carries the loss of the Saal Tribe gravely within his heart and instructs his son to treat their young girl with due kindness and sympathy should the two reunite.

❝ I'LL BE RIGHT, RIGHT

 WHERE YOU STEP

Hi, I'm Reuben! I mostly made Khan to hang out with my friends and sulk around at RP venues, but I have a background in writing RP and I'm cool if you wanna reach out and just talk to Khan! i .   Khan and his writer are 21+. Most of my NSFW content is suggestive or non-explicit. ii .   Khan isn't my main character, haha! I created him to go club-hopping with my friends in Crystal and to be fun and slutty in a way that my loser-coded 52 year old Hrothgar main can't. If you wanna run actual content with me I'm a TANK/RPR/SGE main on Frederic Aariana, at freby.carrd.co. iii .   You can find more info about our FC and our mansion venue at gleehouse.carrd.co. Check it out! It's fun! Come over and visit us!
